Analyst

As an A.T. Kearney Procurement & Analytic Solutions Analyst, you will work on a broad range of consulting projects involving data gathering and analysis and apply sophisticated modeling, such as data mining, predictive modeling and optimization, to real-life business problems. For undergraduates and advanced degree graduates without work experience, the A.T. Kearney Procurement & Analytic Solutions Analyst program is an outstanding introduction to the discipline of consulting and delivering advanced, collaborative and innovative solutions on client engagements.

As an Analyst, your specific responsibilities include the following:

  • Partner with Analysts and other team members to provide analytical rigor and technical expertise on client engagements and internal projects
  • Understand our clients' business needs and develop accurate solutions
  • Map where the information lies within complex corporations and work with our clients to access to the data
  • Analyze, manipulate, cleanse and validate data from a variety of data sources and platforms
  • Interview client contacts to validate data, collect qualitative information and gain client insight
  • Learn and deploy supply chain management and sourcing techniques
  • Create and deliver PowerPoint presentations of project findings, business requirements and data dictionaries to internal and client teams

Sourcing Analyst

As a Sourcing Analyst, you are able to contribute immediately as a full member of the team. You will participate in a rotational program that provides training and working experience in a number of different roles to enhance your knowledge and potential. You will have the opportunity to learn and apply a variety of data analytics techniques as well as category sourcing strategies. Your primary role is to assist client sourcing teams with development and execution of the overall strategic sourcing process.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Support the execution of the category strategic sourcing process, including supply market analysis, supplier identification and outreach, RFI/P development and execution, on-line bidding, supplier response analysis and negotiation
  • Develop timely, high-quality data deliverables for spend analysis and baseline development
  • Conduct supplier orientation and training on the sourcing process
  • Create and manage execution of RFPs and Auctions, including post-event reporting
  • Conduct analysis to support benefits estimation and documentation
  • Use analytic techniques to further support complex sourcing and supply chain projects

Sourcing Associate

Sourcing Associate coaches a customer category team through the strategic sourcing process, from development of the strategy and approach through execution of an RFI/P campaign. Additionally, associates are responsible for pre-event marketing and training communications with customer stakeholders and suppliers.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Support the development of the overall strategy for leveraging sourcing, including RFI/P and on-line bidding, design of the bid structure and RFP process and review of supplier criteria for RFP and/or auction participation
  • Drive the category team to provide timely, high-quality data deliverables
  • Conduct supplier orientation and training on the sourcing process
  • Create RFPs, auctions and practice auctions
  • Work with teams to strategize how to best use e-sourcing tools within the context of their ongoing commodity strategies
  • Manage on-site auctions, validating final bids and generating and distributing RFP and auction reports
  • Conduct analysis, support benefits estimation

Sourcing Manager

Sourcing Manager, your primary role is to lead a client category team through the strategic sourcing process, from development of the strategy and approach through execution of an RFI/P, an auction or traditional negotiation and post-negotiation follow up. A Sourcing Manager is also responsible for project marketing and training communications with client stakeholders and suppliers.

In addition to the skills needed for designing and executing strategic sourcing projects, Sourcing Managers must have the skills to gather and analyze data to identify sourcing practice improvements, cost savings opportunities, operations and technology improvements as well as conduct bench-marking and best-practices studies.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Provide strategic sourcing consulting to clients including development of the spend cube, creation of the RFI/P and guidance in the negotiation process
  • Lead the client through the strategic sourcing process for one or more categories, including development of the category profile through final negotiations
  • Be able to execute against specified delivery models for both e-enabled sourcing and traditional strategic sourcing methods
  • Drive the category team to provide timely, high-quality data deliverables
  • Lead the client category team in developing a supplier communications plan in support of sourcing strategy
  • Conduct analysis to support benefits estimation and documentation
  • Document category experience by developing formalized Intellectual capital documents in order to continuously increase the breadth of knowledge available within the firm techniques
